Every year, thousands of people decide to continue their further education with a Masters degree, but finding the right university for you can be difficult. It could be that you've moved away from the location of the university you studied at for your undergraduate degree, that they don't offer a Masters degree in the subject you want to study or that you'd simply like to study at a different university.
There are a huge range of universities for you to choose from if you search online and it can be quite confusing if you aren't exactly sure what you're looking for. One of the best ways to go about finding your ideal university is to know exactly what you want to get out of it.
If you work a full time job or you have a family to look after it might be a good idea to study for your Masters Degree part time. Although studying part time will mean that the length of your degree will be doubled, meaning that you won't graduate for 6 years at least, but it will give you more free time so that you can focus on your other commitments at the same time.
Another option is distance learning, which can help out if you've found the ideal university for your Masters degree but you live too far away. If relocating isn't an option and you aren't able to commute there are lots of universities that offer distance learning. Your lecturers will be able to send you all of the course notes over the internet, and you will be able to communicate via email or phone if you need any help. Some universities also offer flexible learning degrees, which combine both distance learning and attended lectures. When applying for your course you will need to make it clear whether you want to go for attended, distance, or flexible learning.
Those of you that are concerned about your university's credentials will probably want to choose one that ranked highly in this year's league tables. You will need to have some pretty good qualifications already if you want to get into one of these universities though, but there's nothing to stop you from trying.
If money is an issue you will be able to find information on funding for Masters degrees online. Student Finance can award certain students with awards to help them pay for their tuition, so search online now.
If you're looking for a Master degree to suit you simply search online now, where you'll be able to find everything from Masters in English to Science.
